Säby Community Accordion Group. Säbydraget is a musical group, consisting
of diatonic (two-row-accordion) regular accordions, base and fiddlers.
All members have connection to Säby community in Hallstahammar
          , Sweden.
Their repertoire is mostly "Old time dance" (waltz, hambo,
          polka etc.) and traditional "Folkmusic".

From the kitchen to the dining room. It all started at the Säby community day 1988 when Sven-Erik Buskenström,
Gunilla Anderson from Sala, Harry Wallström from Dala-Floda was
entertaining. They were playing their diatonics at the Säby town
          hall.
Some of the forthcomingSäbydraget members attended that evening.
Reverend Alf Karlsson knew that several musicians lived in the community.
He suggested that a music festival should be held in Säby. Margit
Carlsson contacted the musicians she knew about. They met at Margits
home in Löpdal, and her kitchen became their meeting place for
years. As time went by the number of musicians increased and they had
to move into her dining room.
10-Years Anniversary In 1998 they celebrated their Tenth Anniversary. Over the years they
have received more and more engagements. Sometimes there can be three
to four performances per week. Mostly they play at nursinghomes, weddings,
private parties, Midsummer festivals, Christmas bazaars and of course
          at Säby yearly community day.
Participation with "Radio of Västmanland".After a performance at Växhuset
in Västerås 1997, when they were warming up band for Erik
Frank, (famous Swedish accordionist), Radio Västmanland called
and wanted to make a programme about Säbydraget. At the local radio
station excellent recording studio they recorded 10 songs. Later it
was aired in a programme with local music.
CD-Recording A year later they gathered in the studio again and recorded their first
          CD.

Report from TexasChrister Johansson and Sven-Erik Buskenström, members of the Säbydraget
in Kolbäck Sweden, led the 2002 Viking Fest Parade in Georgetown
          TX.
Playing a traditional Swedish march, on their two-row accordion, they
fast became the favorites of the festival.
Even though they never appeared on the main stage, their music drew
large crowds when playing free standing in the park. We congratulate
them, and wish them the greatest success.
Best regards from the Board of Directors of Viking Fest Inc. Dallas
          Texas.
